Laboratory

 

Huta Bankowa’s Laboratory is recognized by PRS - Polish Register of Shipping and UDT - Office of Technical Inspection in the field of laboratory tests of steel products. We are also member of the Polish Research Laboratories Club - POLLAB.

Our laboratory has appropriate technical equipment as well as suitably qualified and experienced research team, which allows us to perform tests in accordance with current standards, customer requests and qualification societies requirements.

Services offered by Huta Bankowa’s Laboratory as a part of its activities:

 

SPECTRAL ANALYS LABORATORY
 
  • chemical composition analysis of steel carried out by means of spectral analysis with spark excitation

 

MECHANICAL PROPERTIES LABORATORY
 
  • static tensile test (tensile strength limit, yield point, elongation, contraction),
  • technological bending test
 
  • impact strength test at temperatures ranging from +20°C to -80°C
 
  • Brinell and Rockwell hardness tests
 
  • heat treatment of qualification samples

 

 

METALOGRAPHICAL LABORATORY
 
  • macroscopic tests (Baumann’s test, deep etching test, blue and hardened fracture test)
  • microscopic tests (microstructure parameters, non-metallic inclusion contents, decarburization depth, grain size)
  • comprehensive metallographic expertise with the use of an optical microscope

 

LENGTH AND ANGLE MEASUREMENT LABORATORY
 
  • verification of measuring instruments used in geometrical quantities measurement (including slide callipers, depth gauges, altimeters, micrometer’s, sensors, bore gauges, etc.)

The laboratory also performs non-destructive penetration testing.
